Arranging an assessment

Assessment for tightening takes place in the outpatient clinic of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital, 301 Huafu Avenue North Section, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. Call the outpatient line, or use the channel described on the appointments page, and say that you are asking about tightening so that the right clinic time is booked.

What the consultation examines

The assessment looks at the skin and at the tissue beneath it as two separate questions. It examines where the looseness actually is, whether it is the skin or whether descent has begun, how the skin behaves when it is lifted gently, and how it has responded to any previous device treatment. Old photographs are more useful than you would expect, because they show whether the change is one of surface or of position. You should leave knowing whether tightening reaches the problem you described, what the treatment cannot change in your case, and what the alternatives are.

What to bring

Bring a list of your medication, including anything that makes your skin sensitive to light, and any record of previous device treatment, filler or surgery in the area. Tell the team about a history of cold sores, any bleeding disorder, any previous nerve problem in the face, and whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Mention any recent sun exposure, peel or laser treatment in the same area, because it changes the timing.

The review visit

A review at two to three months is part of the plan rather than an extra appointment. It is when the change is judged against a standardised photograph taken in the same light, when tenderness or a patch of numbness that has not settled is assessed, and when a decision to continue, to change treatment or to stop can be taken honestly. It is also the point at which a course that has produced nothing measurable should end.
